SHAREFEST (”Meu Bairro Melhor” in Portuguese, or “My Neighborhood Better”) is an annual event sponsored by Word of Life Seminary and area churches in Atibaia, São Paulo, Brazil, in which hundreds of volunteers spend the entire Corpus Christi holiday (June) performing valuable community services, including:

*painting and restoring public school and hospital buildings

*recreational park clean-up and maintenance

*hosting health and dental clinics for the poor

*home construction and renovation for the poor

The event has been held annually since 2006 and has since spread to other municipalities in Brazil who have seen the impact such a “work day” can have in improving the life of area residents.
