Dump Program
The Foundation for Love Dump project reaches out to over 150 of the poorest families in the suburbs of Manta. These families survive and depend on what they pick out of the garbage dump. The people have to contend with the toxic waste and compete with the pigs that roam and feed there too.
The children from these families are faced with the task of helping their family financially by sorting trash and helping care for their brothers and sisters. These tasks keep them from receiving an education that will help break the cycle of growing up and working in the dump.
Foundation for Love has a burden to help the people become better educated and trained, so they can know a better way of life. They want to share with them a greater life beyond survival and living off the waste from the dump. Their goal is to get the children out of the garbage and into the school books. Educating the children is the key to breaking the current cycle.
